Offsideplus.az reports that a 1–0 scoreline was recorded in the Group L fixture between Ghana and Panama. Turan Tovuz's Panamanian footballer Roderick Miller did not feature in the match.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan, making their historic debut appearance at the World Cup, suffered a 3–1 defeat against Colombia. Abbosbek Fayzullaev scored the first-ever World Cup goal for the Uzbeks.
