Another Azerbaijani boxer has triumphed at the U-17 European Championship in Budva.

According to Offsideplus.az, Mahammadali Istamov (57 kg) has ascended to the highest step of the podium.

He defeated Con Elam (England) in the final with a score of 4:1 (29:28, 30:27, 28:29, 29:28, 29:28).

Thus, our national team concluded the U-17 European Championship with a total of 8 medals (2 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze). Prior to Istamov, Jamila Muradli (57 kg) won gold, while Hasrat Mammadov (46 kg), Ismayil Nasirzade (52 kg), and Sema Abbasova (66 kg) secured silver medals. Qardash Rahimov (54 kg), Hidayat Mammadov (70 kg), and Khumar Jafarli (+80 kg) earned bronze medals.

It is noteworthy that 473 athletes (314 boys and 159 girls) from 40 countries competed in the championship.
