The Azerbaijan U-21 team is set to face their Gibraltar counterparts in the qualifying round of the European Championship.

Ahead of the match, midfielder Shahin Shahniyarov spoke to Offsideplus.az during an open training session:

"We returned to our homeland three days ago. We have gone through the recovery process. We are preparing for the upcoming match. It has been nine months since the away game. There have been many changes in the opponent's squad - new players have joined. There is no comfort; we are getting ready for the game against Gibraltar. We approach every match as if it is a final. It doesn't matter who the opponent is: whether it's Portugal, Scotland, or Gibraltar."
