"Sabah" will host "Slavia" (Prague, Czech Republic) in the second round of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
According to Offsideplus.az, ahead of the match, the head coach of the "owls", Valdas Dambrauskas, answered questions from the media at a press conference.
The Lithuanian specialist emphasised that his team is ready for the encounter:
"I believe we will do our best in a match of this level. The opponent, of course, wants to achieve a positive result. As the head coach, my job is to fully prepare the team for the game, and I am fulfilling my duty."
Dambrauskas highly praised the playing style of the Prague representatives:
"Slavia" has a very good playing style. They are a team that prioritises strong and high pressing. The players chosen by their head coach fit this tactic perfectly, playing attacking football. Nevertheless, we also believe in our strength. I think we will be able to identify and exploit the opponent's weaknesses during the game."
Touching on the opponent's players' ambitions to return from the away match with three points, the head coach stated that "Sabah" will approach this match with special motivation:
"Yes, we are aware that the opponent has not won away for a long time. We know what we are capable of. Perhaps we appear to be an easy opponent on paper for them, but we have a great opportunity to prove ourselves. Personally, this is not additional motivation for me. My biggest motivation is to go out and give my all. We have come a long way and created a miracle so far."
