Valdas Dambrauskas, head coach of Sabah, shared his thoughts at a press conference following the second leg of the UEFA Champions League playoff against Hapoel Beer-Sheva.
According to Offsideplus.az, the coach spoke about the team's and fans' fight, stating:
"What can I say? Everything is beautiful. I want to embrace every fan. Sabah is the best team of my career. Perhaps you lost hope at the last moment. But my players fought until the end. We played against one of the best pressing teams in Europe."
Discussing Tellur Mutallimov, the head coach noted that he will remain a fond memory in the team's history:
"Tellur will be remembered with beautiful memories. He will tell his grandchildren that he scored beautiful goals. I say this about Tellur and others; they sacrificed their egos."
He also mentioned that they tried to surprise the opponent during the match:
"We tried to create surprises. The winning team plays in the same style. They performed as they did in the first match. We had to make certain changes. The opponent also tried to adapt to this. What I said about Tellur also applies to Aleksey. When we need a goal, we substitute him. When the score was 2-2, the opponent was trying to protect their lead. These were all premeditated. The concept of luck in football is abstract."
