From the 2026/27 season, a new funding model will be implemented in the Azerbaijan Basketball League (ABL).

According to Offsideplus.az, the main principle of the new system is based on the slogan "More victories, more fans – more financial support." The overall financial budget will be maintained at a level similar to previous years. However, the distribution of funds among clubs will no longer be based on predetermined fixed payments, but will depend on the teams' results and their ability to meet set criteria.

Thus, both the on-court results of the clubs and their interaction with fans will become key factors in determining financial support.

The five main conditions of the new funding model are as follows:

Fan Support (Tribune Bonus): A club that attracts at least 300 fans to each game will earn 3,000 AZN for each match. Over the course of 21 games in the season, a club meeting this condition could add 63,000 AZN to its budget.

Victory Bonus: Each victory is valued at 10,000 AZN. With the maximum victory record during the season, clubs can earn up to 210,000 AZN in rewards.

Semi-Final Qualification: At the end of the season, each of the four clubs that qualify for the play-off semi-finals will receive an additional 150,000 AZN.

Runner-Up Prize: The team finishing second in the championship will receive an additional financial support of 700,000 AZN.

Championship Prize: The club that becomes the national champion will earn an additional reward of 1,400,000 AZN.

It should be noted that all clubs starting the new season in the ABL will unconditionally receive 300,000 AZN.
