Sabah head coach Rimas Kurtinaitis has commented on the hard-fought 98-93 victory over Abşeron Lions in the opening game of the final series.

Offsideplus.az reports that the specialist emphasized the team's display of character and the importance of tactical discipline. Kurtinaitis noted that they had anticipated a challenging matchup:

"In a final series, you must be prepared both psychologically and physically. We started the game a bit cautiously. Special credit must go to our opponents—Abşeron Lions performed very well tactically."

The experienced head coach praised his players' ability to stage a comeback:

"I want to thank my players for staying in the rhythm of the game and remaining composed until the end. Despite being behind for a long period, the players fought with patience. It was because of this that we managed to turn the tide in the final period."

Leading the series 1-0, the Sabah manager stressed that there is no room for complacency:

"Starting the series with a win is a major advantage. However, we must put this victory behind us and focus entirely on the next game."
