The Sabah U-18 basketball team, competing in the Youth Champions League, played its first match today.

Offsideplus.az reports that the Azerbaijani representative, placed in Group B, faced Bosnia and Herzegovina's Igokea in their opening fixture. The match ended in a 58:88 defeat for the Owls.

Our representative will play its second group match tomorrow against Germany's Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg.

According to the regulations, only group winners will advance to the semi-finals. Teams finishing second in their groups will compete for 5th–8th places, while those finishing last will battle for 9th–12th positions.
