Today, in the Azerbaijan Basketball League semifinals, Neftçi and Abşeron faced off. According to Offsideplus.az, Neftçi won the first game with a 97–93 victory.

After the match, Neftçi's head coach, Davit Chivchavadze, shared his thoughts on the game against Abşeron:

"It was a very tough game. The opponent was well-organized and well-prepared for the match. While we were playing our third game, they were already playing their seventh. In the first half, we couldn't make any three-pointers, which affected us on the scoreboard. In the second half, we started making three-pointers and got back into the game. My players did a great job on defense. But our job is not finished yet. Abşeron is a very dangerous team, and they have already proven that twice. We will prepare better for the second game.
