Former head coach of Azerbaijan national team is dead

Former head coach of the Azerbaijani national team Mammad Eyvazov has died at the age of 69, Offsideplus.az reports.
Mammad Eyvazov was born on November 17, 1951. During his activity in the field of sports, he was awarded the Honored Coach of Azerbaijan, Honorary Physical Education and Sports Worker, Honored Sportsman of Azerbaijan, Presidential Fellow and "Progress" medals. For many years (2001-2008) he worked as the head coach of the national boxing team of Azerbaijan. Under his leadership, our team returned home with many medals from world and European championships. Under the leadership of Mammad Eyvazov, the team brought home two bronze medals from the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics.
Eyvazov worked in Turkey for several years, and under his leadership, his student Malik Beylaroglu won a silver medal for Turkey at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics.
