"I have been in Baku for two days now. I am training."
Neftchi player Yusuf Laval said this while talking about his physical condition, Offsideplus.az reports.
The Nigerian midfielder, who was unable to take part in the Whites' winter training camp, said: "Everything is fine in terms of physical fitness. I feel good. If the head coach gives me a chance, I can come out."
The 23-year-old player also revealed the reason for his late return to Baku. He said it was related to the document: "My passport expired. Therefore, I could not return to Azerbaijan on time and joined the team's camp late."
Rustam Allahverdiyev, head of Neftchi's press and public relations department, did not rule out that Lawal could be punished. The African midfielder said he did not want to comment.
It should be noted that Yusuf Lawal left Baku after the first half of the championship. For this reason, Laval missed the winter training camp and the match in the 14th round, in which they defeated Sabail 3: 1. The Nigerian player did not take part in the first match of the quarterfinals of the national cup, in which "Zira" lost 0: 1 and the return match, which ended in a goalless draw.
