Our national team will test its strength in a friendly match against Slovenia.

The match will take place at the Stojice Stadium in Ljubljana. This will be the first test match under the leadership of head coach Gianni de Biasi.

So far, the Italian specialist has led our team only in the League of Nations. The match in Ljubljana will be our team's first such test in 2020.

However, our national team had to hold friendly matches against Liechtenstein and Malta in March and Turkey in May. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, those encounters were canceled.

Another first is related to the opponent. The team will face Slovenia for the first time in its history. So far, the two national teams have not met in any inspections or official tournaments.

The match at Stojitse Stadium is a preparation for the upcoming matches of the League of Nations for both teams. Competitors in the C league are fighting for different goals in different groups. 

Our national team must gain important points in the matches with Montenegro and Luxembourg in order not to be the last in Group 1. Our opponent, the leader of Group 3, will try to maintain its position in the matches against Kosovo and Greece.

The Slovenia-Azerbaijan match will start at 23:45 Baku time.
